Walking 50K for Infant and Pregnancy Loss: Raising Awareness and Honouring Babies

Walking to Honour Babies Gone Too Soon

Grief after infant or pregnancy loss can feel deeply isolating, but raising awareness and remembering those babies can bring light into a heavy journey. This month, The Grieving Grandma is walking 50 kilometers to honour babies gone too soon and raise awareness for infant and pregnancy loss. This walk also shines a light on the Eric Elliott Memorial Scholarship, run through the Home Hospice Association (HHA), which supports families navigating this kind of loss.

Why I’m Walking

Every step in this 50K walk is an act of remembrance and advocacy. By sharing my journey:

  • We honour babies lost too soon, keeping their memory alive.

  • We raise awareness about the grief families experience after infant and pregnancy loss.

  • We support grieving families indirectly through the Eric Elliott Memorial Scholarship.

While this is a personal walk, anyone moved by the cause can support it by donating to the scholarship, helping families receive resources, guidance, and comfort during one of life’s hardest moments.

How You Can Participate from Afar

Even if you can’t walk alongside me physically, there are ways to join this effort:

  1. Share Awareness: Post, comment, or share your own stories to help keep the conversation around infant and pregnancy loss alive.

  2. Donate: Contributions to the Eric Elliott Memorial Scholarship help grieving families access support and resources.

  3. Reflect and Remember: Take a moment to honor your own losses or the losses of someone you love. Each act of remembrance adds to the ripple effect of awareness and compassion.

A Gentle Reminder

Walking 50K is challenging, just like grief can be. Every step matters—not for speed, but for intention. Whether you walk, donate, or reflect quietly, your support helps honor babies and families experiencing loss.
