Welcome to The Grieving Grandma — a space of comfort, care, and connection.

Here, your grief is seen, your story is heard, and your healing matters.

I’m Tammy, a grieving grandmother, certified death doula, and someone who truly understands the deep ache of loss. After the passing of my beloved grandson Eric, I found myself searching for meaning, peace, and a way to support others walking a similar path. This space was born from that journey. Through personal reflections, grief support services, legacy work, and community resources, I’m here to walk beside you — not to fix your pain, but to hold space for it with love and gentleness. Whether you’re grieving a loved one, navigating end-of-life care, or simply seeking understanding, you are welcome here.

“Guided by Love, Dedicated to Healing”

This space was born from love, loss, and the unshakable bond I carry with my grandson. In his short time here, he filled our lives with joy, laughter, and light — a presence that forever shaped our hearts.

When he left us, the ache was indescribable. It changed me in ways I could never have imagined, but it also became the beginning of my mission — to walk alongside others who know the weight of grief.

Through The Grieving Grandma, I hope to offer comfort, compassion, and connection to those navigating the hardest moments of their lives. This is more than a website; it is a space where grief is honored, stories are shared, and healing can gently unfold.

  • Note:
Grief brings many emotions, doubts, and “what ifs.” Here you’ll find thoughtful answers to some of the most common questions — offered with compassion and care. Grief is a natural response to loss and often comes in waves, while depression is more persistent and may require professional help. Both deserve compassion and support.
  • Q: What is the difference between grief and depression?
A: Grief is deeply personal, and everyone’s journey looks different. There’s no timeline or “correct” way to feel.
  • Q: Is it normal to still feel grief years later?
A: Yes. There’s no timeline for grief. It may rise and fall over months or years, and that’s completely natural.
  • Q: What if I feel angry or guilty?
A: These are normal grief emotions. Anger and guilt are part of processing loss, and they don’t mean you loved your person any less.
  • Q: When should I seek extra support?
A: If grief feels overwhelming, isolating, or prevents you from functioning in daily life, reaching out to a grief support group, counselor, or doula can help.
  • Q: How do I talk to children about death?
A: Be honest, simple, and gentle. Children need reassurance, love, and space to ask questions in their own way.
  • Q: How can I honour my loved one’s memory?
A: Memory rituals like writing letters, planting a tree, creating a memory box, or sharing stories can bring comfort and keep their legacy alive.
  • Q: Do grief circles really help?
A: Yes Being in a safe space with others who share similar experiences often helps you feel less alone and more supported.
